Of course widespread poverty and despair, the lack of hope for a better future or a chance for a better future is what drives Jamaica's youth into lives of violence and crime.
That is why all the things that have been tried to stop the crime, drug use, violence and corruption do not work.

This I agree with,and it all seem so obvious to me and you and all right thinking people,yet it seems so frustrating that what is obvious to us isnt obvious to the politicians who are in positions to effect change,...it just seems like its in their interest to allow things to remain as they are as long as the crime doesnt impact on *their* lives.
